The Biden Presidency is a major opportunity for Safe Streets advocates. President Biden lost his wife and child in a traffic accident many years ago. The sense is that his personal experience will make him very receptive to a traffic/street safety campaign. The immediate objective is for President Biden to set a nationwide goal of zero traffic fatalities/injuries – essentially Vision Zero on a federal level.
In support of this objective, Families for Safe Streets is gathering survivor stories in both post card and video form.
Any survivors wishing to provide a video are asked to contact Safe Streets at info@familiesforsafestreets.com; that group will conduct a short interview and then edit and format the video. Alternately, if you prefer, you may record your own video using this guidance.
Post cards should include a picture of the survivor, the lost loved one, or injuries plus a statement of no more than 40 words that you would want President Biden to hear.
